Thursday, May 10, 2007, Sarah fainted at school. She was taken to a local ER & then transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital with a diagnosis of restrictive cardiomyopathy.

July 5, 2007 Sarah received her new heart. However, during the transplant she suffered a massive stroke that left her paralyzed.

Surgery

Mom and Dad's picture

Hi everybody. Just wanted to let you all know that Sarah will be going in for surgery on her vocal cords this Wednesday. She has had speech, and voice therapy for two years with no real improvement to her voice. The next step is this surgery to her vocal cord. The procedure will make the one vocal cord that is paralyzed a bit thicker, so that when Sarah talks the other vocal cord will completely touch the one that is slightly thicker. Whew, did any one understand what I just tried to explain. Bottom line is that Sarah should come out speaking with a louder voice. Doctor says it's minor, but there is nothing ever minor when it come to surgery. She will be going into this surgery around 11:30am, so please pray for Our Sarah not be scared going in, and for everything to come out okay. I will let you all know how the surgery went as soon we know. Thank you again for all your unwavering support for our family, and for your continued prayers that mean so much to us.

Much Love,
Sarah's Parents
